Johnson (30, 1.98), is a graduate of Dayton College and a former NBA player, where he played about 147 games in the Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies and Boston Celtic uniforms. In the 2017/18 season, he went to Europe for the first time, to the French Grablin, in which he averaged 15.5 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists per game. The following season, as mentioned, Johnson came to Jerusalem, where he played 13 games in which he averaged 12.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes.
Holon coach Stefanos Dadas said at the signing: “Chris Johnson is a player who will help us with his energies and form of play. His fighting spirit is going to fit in great with the character of Holon. He is an excellent player who has already experienced in our league and also experienced a good season in France.”
“I have been following him for many years, he will help us a lot,” the Greek added. “He is another player with a lot of motivation who preferred Holon over higher offers because the atmosphere here intrigues him. It’s part of the puzzle and I’m sure our fans will love his passion and big investment in the defensive game and in general.”
