On the last day in Serie A, Inter secured 2nd place in the final score thanks to a 0-2 win on the field by rival Atalanta. Champion Juventus took a snip day against Roma, Lazio striker Immobile equaled Gonzalo Higuain’s goal record.

Atalanta was able to crown its fairytale season with a second place, but for that it had to win against direct competitor Inter.

The Milanese quickly hit the home team, as D’Ambrosio headed the 0-1 after 50 seconds. The assist man’s Ashley Young made it 0-2 in the 20th minute, putting the match straight away.

Juventus crashes at home

For Juventus and Roma, nothing was at stake anymore, so both teams sent a glorified B-team into the meadow. In the home team, Ronaldo and Dybala, among others, were not even on the couch, where our compatriot Daouda Peeters stayed this time for 90 minutes.

The champion still took the lead thanks to Higuain, but after that the Romans took over command. Kalinic and Perotti made 1-2 at half-time. After the break, the same Perotti added another after a wonderful solo by Zaniolo.

Immobile equals Higuain

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile closes the season as top scorer in Serie A. On the final game day, he raised his goals to 36, equaling Gonzalo Higuain’s record in the 2015-2016 season with Napoli.

That Napoli also was Lazio’s opponent on Saturday-evening, which went down 3-1 with Dries Mertens’ team. The Red Devil played the entire game, but failed to score.
