Ineos expands, but Jumbo-Visma and Roglic remain in power | Critérium du Dauphiné 2020

Wout van Aert kept his word and fulfilled his role as super servant with verve. The yellow jersey wearer took the penultimate climb in the peloton, and on the final climb he let go of the favorites army.

Ineos put the whip on it, which rolled some big heads. Alaphilippe, Adam Yates and Valverde had to drop out much earlier than they would like.

Chris Froome also suddenly put himself aside and parked, while Geraint Thomas played his part with a tempo break in function of Bernal.

When Emanuel Buchmann opened the debates at the big guns, the German was immediately whistled back by the strong American Sepp Kuss, Roglic’s lieutenant.

Bernal tried to outwit his 10 remaining companions 1,500 meters from the line, but again Kuss defused that action.

At 650 meters from the top, the acceleration of Primoz Roglic was more than convincing. He rushed to the 2nd stage victory of Jumbo-Visma and the yellow jersey.
