Within a few days of the launch of the venture, about four hundred couples have registered for weddings at various sites around the city, with the most popular sites among the couples: the Commissioner’s Palace Promenade and the Rose Garden.
The wedding project is a special project of the Jerusalem Municipality, initiated by Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon, which aims to help couples who can not hold their wedding due to corona restrictions – and allow them to hold an intimate and unusual event, for the small family only and according to Ministry of Health guidelines. .
The events in question are intended for a limited audience (up to 20 participants) and will meet all the guidelines of the Ministry of Health – including the number of guests, keeping distance, health declaration and temperature measurement. All locations have been selected so that the number of guests can be controlled and guests can be avoided beyond what is allowed.
The municipality will make available to the couples getting married the chosen place, including electrical infrastructure, services and coordination people on its behalf, who will be in contact with the couple and manage the event on the ground. Earlier this week, the municipality launched an online system where couples can sign up at any site by date for an evening or morning wedding.
In addition, the municipality will condition the event on the couples using Jerusalem suppliers (catering, design, music, furniture, etc.), in order to provide additional work to the events sector in the city, which was severely affected by the crisis.
The project will run from tomorrow, Sunday, the second of August until Rosh Hashanah, when every day there will be two rounds of weddings – a morning wedding and an evening wedding until 22:00.
The Mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, said, “The Corona period does not allow many couples to have the wedding they dreamed of, so we thought of a creative solution that would both allow them to celebrate intimately and respectfully and provide them with the most exciting event of their lives. Jerusalem is an event that couples will not forget for the rest of their lives. ”
