The hotel industry on the coast expects the best weekend since the restart. Westtoer reports this based on figures from the online booking platform Stardekk. Westtoer expects most coastal municipalities to turn yellow on the pressure barometer, which stands for ‘pressure’ and advises visitors to avoid the centers and to find the quiet places by the sea, especially during peak hours in the afternoon.

The announced summer weather ensures many last-minute bookings at the hotels. Figures from the online booking platform Stardekk show that this weekend will be the best weekend for the hotel sector since the restart. Westtoer guesses who will come to the sea to consult the busy barometer in advance.

“Everyone is welcome, although it is of course important that visitors experience a safe, comfortable holiday. If you see on the busy barometer that certain zones are in yellow, it is wise to move to a green zone, ”says Sabien Lahaye-Battheu, deputy and chairman of Westtoer.

According to an online panel survey by iVox, 17 percent of Belgians intend to move to the coast for the next 7 days. This is in line with the past few weeks. This concerns day-trippers, overnight tourists and second-stayers. The pressure barometer can be consulted at www.dekust.be.
