Horner: “New front RB16 causes balance problems”

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner says the front of the RB16 is causing some balance issues, making the car less competitive than previously hoped. However, it is hoped to get rid of the problem with a series of updates.

Red Bull Racing seemed to have good papers prior to the new season to be able to pose a serious challenge for Mercedes. Three Grands Prix later, however, it is abundantly clear that the reigning world champion also has the strongest car on the grid this year. The German racing stable has all managed to win the first three rounds of the world championship. Last Saturday, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas even qualified within a second of the number three – Max Verstappen.

However, Red Bull Racing does not help with a number of balance problems. Both Verstappen and his teammate Alexander Albon regularly complain about how difficult the RB16 is to drive. Team boss Christian Horner previously acknowledged that it is indeed a stubborn carriage, but now also tells where the Austrian formation went wrong: “Before this season we changed the front of the car,” it sounds opposite Motorsport.com. “That brings some balance problems, but with the new parts we try to solve them step by step.”

Horner therefore does not make himself illusions. With Verstappen in third starting place and Albon having to fight forwards from thirteenth place, the win is far away: “Hamilton is the favorite here. Mercedes is very strong here, but hopefully we can be a little below them on Sunday put pressure, “it sounds. The Grand Prix of Great Britain starts at 3:10 PM Dutch time.
