Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra official: these are the specs
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra is the new top device from the Chinese manufacturer and stands out for two things: the charging speed and versatile cameras. The smartphone has a large 4500 mAh battery and supports fast charging with 120 watts. In comparison: the OnePlus 8 Pro does this with a maximum of 30 watts, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with ‘only’ 25 watts. A huge difference, and you should also notice that while charging.
According to Xiaomi, the battery is already 41 percent full after five minutes of charging. If you go from 0 to 100 percent, this only takes 23 minutes. Wireless charging is also super fast: the Mi 10 Ultra charges with a maximum of 50 watts wirelessly, so it only takes 40 minutes to completely fill the phone. If you put the device on the wireless charger for fifteen minutes, it will be almost half full.
Four cameras zoom in far
As mentioned, the Mi 10 Ultra also stands out for its cameras. On the back is a primary camera of 48 megapixels. In addition, we see a 48 megapixel camera with periscopic zoom, which allows the device to zoom in 5x optically. The hybrid zoom would go up to 120x, making the phone images extremely close. Probably the quality – just like with the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with the 100x Space Zoom function – will deteriorate considerably.
Also present is a 20-megapixel wide-angle lens for wider photos and a 12-megapixel ‘portrait camera’ for taking portrait photos. The background is blurred, making the foreground stand out. On the front, in a hole in the screen, is a 20 megapixel camera for selfies. That screen fills the entire front and has a high refresh rate of 120Hz. As a result, images look very smooth.
Finally, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra has the Snapdragon 865 processor, one of the fastest chips that manufacturer Qualcomm makes at the moment. In addition, the smartphone has at least 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage space and a fingerprint scanner under the screen. The Mi 10 Ultra runs out of the box on Android 10 with the new MIUI software from Xiaomi.
Mi 10 Ultra release and price
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra will soon be released in China, but it is unclear whether the smartphone will also be released in the Netherlands. The regular Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro did appear here earlier this year. The smartphones have a suggested retail price of 799 and 999 euros respectively, but nowadays you get it for less.
