Happy with ‘big club’ FC Twente: ‘I’ve always been happy in the Eredivisie’


Lazaros Lamprou wants to take the next step in his career at FC Twente. His transfer came around on Friday: the coming season, the Greek attacker from PAOK Saloniki will play on a rental basis in Enschede.

Lamprou (22) played for Fortuna Sittard in the 2018/2019 season and delivered his calling card with seven goals and eight assists. It is therefore logical that he now opts for an Eredivisie club again. “I have always been very happy here,” he tells 1Twente.

“I think the Eredivisie is a very nice competition. Fortuna Sittard gave me a chance and I took it. Now I am at a big club and I want to make it even more beautiful. I see this as the next step in my career. ”

When Lamprou played at Fortuna, Twente stayed in the Kitchen Champion Division. “So it is the first time that I have been in this stadium. I am very excited. I have known FC Twente since I was a small child. It is a big club and that is why I am very happy. one word: fantastic. ”
