Hapoel Tel Aviv continues with the high signing rate and after bringing Bar Timor back and joining Reggie Apshou, Yannis Castritis’ team announced today (Saturday) a third acquisition this week: the Reds have signed guard Walter Lemon Jr., who will arrive on a one-season contract.
The American (28, 1.91) spent the past season in the NBA Development League, in the uniform of Fort Wayne – the Indiana Pacers’ subsidiary team, where he averaged an impressive 20.5 points, 6.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. This will be his third European stop of his career, having also played in Hungary and Germany. At the end of the 2018/19 season, Lemon Jr. made 11 appearances for the Chicago Bulls and recorded 14.3 points per game, along with 5 assists.
Castritis said of the signing: “Walter is a proven player who will help us in both guard positions. He plays very aggressively on both sides of the court and it fits very well with the DNA and style of play we want to see in practice. I wish him and the other players a successful season. ”
