Hapoel Raanana, which was relegated to the national league this season, announced today (Tuesday) the signing of stopper Matan Ohayon for the season with an option for another season. Ohayon has been part of the staff of Hapoel Beer Sheva in recent years but has made only 44 appearances in total since 2015. Before that he played for Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Haifa, Urbani Kiryat Shmona and Maccabi Petah Tikva.
Gil Cooper, the club’s general manager, said: “We are very pleased with Ohayon’s signing and the significant increase in power both at the professional level and at the level of personality he gives to the team. Ohayon looks great in training and I am convinced that he will upgrade the team significantly “
* Hapoel Petah Tikva also signed today when they added midfielder Aviv Salem to a two-year contract. Salem, 21, grew up in the club’s youth department but moved to Maccabi Herzliya. He started last season in the Hapoel Ramat Hasharon uniform and in January returned to Maccabi Herzliya and played until the league was stopped.
In recent weeks, Aviv has been tested in the training of the senior team and impressed the coach Masai Dego and the rest of the professional team that decided to sign him.
