An average of 604 new infections per day with the new coronavirus were registered between 5 and 11 August, an increase of 5 percent compared to the previous week. On Friday it was an increase of 9 percent on a weekly basis. The number of deaths continues to increase sharply.
Between 5 and 11 August an average of 6.4 people died per day, which is almost double compared to a week earlier (+96 percent).
The trends seem to continue. The growth in the number of new infections has been slowing down and the number of deaths per day has been growing for several days now.
The number of new hospital admissions also continues to rise. Between August 5 and 11, there were an average of 32.6 admissions per day, an increase of 47 percent from the previous week. A total of 18,644 people have already been hospitalized. On Friday there were 310 people in the hospital (+1), 80 of whom were in intensive care (+6). 45 of them (+3) are on artificial respiration.
In total, 77,113 people in our country have already been infected with the corona virus. That is 922 more than Friday.
