During X019, Grounded was announced, a new game from RPG giant Obsidian, but quite different from what we are used to from this studio. Instead of dark caverns, you explore an extremely colorful world – all while shrinking to the size of an ant. It’s up to you to survive in a cute but deadly world. Apparently that idea catches on: since July 28, the game has been playable via Xbox Game Preview, Microsoft’s interpretation of Early Access
, and more than a million players have tried the game.
Of course, it helps that Grounded is part of the Xbox Game Pass, but it also quickly became one of the best-selling games on Steam. The reviews on that platform are also largely positive: at the time of writing, the game may call 80% of its reviews positive.
During the Early Access phase, players are encouraged to send feedback to Obsidian. The studio then bases the content that will be added to the game later.
