In the province of Groningen, the number of confirmed coronavirus infections has risen to 464 people. This is evident from the figures from the GGD Groningen on Monday afternoon. That’s 24 new confirmed infections since Friday. The number of confirmed infections was then 440 infections.
The number of deaths from a proven corona infection in the province of Groningen remained unchanged at 17. This number has been the same since May 16.
Nationwide, 630 people have been diagnosed with the corona virus in the past 24 hours. That is the highest increase in a day since April 26, according to the government’s corona dashboard. More than 3,700 people have been tested positive in the past seven days.
Since 2 July, most corona patients are also treated in hospitals, namely 128 patients. According to chairman Ernst Kuipers of the National Network Acute Care, the increase “still fits within the bandwidth of the past few days”. The number of patients in intensive care fell from 31 to 29. But there are now 99 corona patients in the nursing wards. That is twelve people more than on Sunday and it is the highest number since the beginning of July.
