In addition, the idea of ​​choosing the ‘holiday season’ for the launch, so that the consoles can function as a Christmas gift en masse, does not immediately catch on. 37% of the respondents indicated that they strike immediately at the launch and another 9% want to buy within the month after the first rush. Perhaps it is due to ‘backwards compatible’, but about 12% take three months, while 26% of the respondents expect that it can take another six years after launch before the new console comes in.

The gaming experience of both consoles must be great. It makes sense to ask which releases are the most anticipated. This is the top 5:

Also striking is the way people look for information about the new releases. Given the young target group and the gaming background, you might expect YouTube and social media as Instagram as the most important source of information. That turns out to be partly correct, because ‘good old’ Facebook is the most favorite with a preference of 28%. The marketing fable that word of mouth works best works with this target group. Incidentally, there is a disappointment (little) for the buyers of the PlayStation 5.
