Former Anderlecht-player Chancel Mbemba heads Porto to the double | Portugal

Colombian wing striker Luis Diaz had to take a second yellow card off the field in the 38th minute for a rash violation.

Trainer Sergio Conceiçao was so angry with the arbitration that the former Standard player was also sent away with red a little later.

From the empty stands in the stadium of Coimbra, the Porto coach saw how things went well for his team after the break.

Chancel Mbemba headed twice in the 47th and 57th minute, twice from a free kick.

The final became even more exciting after Carlos Vinicius made the connection goal from a penalty. Porto escaped the equalizer when substitute Joao Jota hit the post with a volley.

The champion’s 10 players held up and captured the Portuguese Cup for the 17th time. This brings Porto to the same level as Sporting Lisbon. Benfica does even better with 26 cup victories.

For Sergio Conceiçao it is the third main prize as a trainer. The 45-year-old Portuguese, winner of the Golden Shoe in our country in 2005, has been at the helm of Porto since 2017 and has already led the club to the title in his first season.

As a player, Conceiçao Porto helped with three league titles (1997, 1998 and 2004) and one cup (1998).
