It has been known for a while that single player DLC for DOOM Eternal has been in development, but id Software has not released anything about it yet. That has now changed, because together with Bethesda, the developer has now announced the first expansion during the Quakecon at Home presentation.
The DLC for DOOM Eternal is called ‘The Ancient Gods’ and will be released in two parts. During the presentation a short teaser trailer of The Ancient Gods: Part One was shown in which we see some short gameplay fragments. The trailer does not reveal much yet, but fortunately we do not have to wait long for further information.
Bethesda already has confirmed that the full reveal including a longer trailer for The Ancient Gods: Part One will follow later this month. This will happen during the gamescom Opening Night Live stream, which will be held on August 27th.
