Maccabi Rishon Lezion has begun its procurement campaign for the 2020/21 season. The runner-up announced today (Monday) the signing of the Israeli national team player, guard Golan Gut, for one season.
The 26-year-old Gut (1.95), who was part of the championship season, returns for a second term in the club’s ranks after averaging 9.6 points per game, 3.9 rebounds and 2 assists for Nes Ziona last season. Rishon LeZion will be his fourth stop in his career after playing for Hapoel Lev Hasharon and Hapoel Tel Aviv, among others.
The team that reached the peak status of Israeli basketball this season under coach Guy Goodes has a long way to go in building its staff. Gutt is the fourth Israeli to close after Noam Dovrat, Noam Avivi and Tal Peled. No foreign player has yet been signed to the team, which will make efforts to keep Daryl Monroe.
