On the 27th floor of the WTC tower, a fire broke out in a technical room on Thursday afternoon. It concerns insulation material that has caught fire. There were no injuries. The tower is currently not in use due to renovation work in progress, and only a few workers were present who were able to get to safety.

Due to the renovation works, there is no water supply in the tower, so the fire brigade has to pump up the fire extinguishing water from a tanker on the street. To combat the fire, the fire brigade can use a work platform from the yard.

The fire creates a black plume of smoke that can be seen from afar.
