Feyenoord finally gets the green light: German attacker joins

Feyenoord can finally welcome Christian Conteh to the training field. The twenty-year-old attacker of German-Ghanaian origin was given the green light on Thursday to join the selection of the Rotterdammers, the club reports.

Feyenoord says that earlier in the day the paperwork needed for his residence and work permit could be completed. The left winger came over in early July from FC Sankt Pauli from Hamburg. He signed a contract until mid-2024 in De Kuip. Conteh played in the youth of Sankt Pauli since 2017 and made his first minutes last summer for the main squad of the German team.

Technical director Frank Arnesen previously said that Conteh should follow the same path as Luis Sinisterra. “Christian is a talent, but we should perhaps not expect too much from him in the first few months. First it is important that he becomes fit and gets to know the club Feyenoord.” Conteh had a disappointing season. He was sidelined for a long time with a hamstring injury.
