Feyenoord cancels training camp and enlists the help of Diederik Gommers

Feyenoord has put a line through the training camp in Austria, where it could play several exhibition games. The people of Rotterdam take no risk with regard to the flaring coronavirus, reports the Algemeen Dagblad.


Feyenoord is still looking for an alternative location, a relatively short distance from Rotterdam. However, it is not excluded that the selection of coach Dick Advocaat does not go to training camp at all, it knows AD.

The players of Feyenoord will be addressed by Diederik Gommers on Friday. The Erasmus MC IC doctor, who has gained national fame in recent months, will explain how they can best deal with the corona measures. Club doctor Casper van Eijk and virologist Annemiek van der Hart will also take the floor.

The selection and the staff will also be tested for the corona virus on Friday. This is in accordance with the protocols of the KNVB, which prescribe that players and staff of a club must be tested at least once a week. That is only an obligation once exhibition games are played. Feyenoord will face city rivals Sparta next Sunday in De Kuip.
