Facebook on Wednesday removed a message from US President Donald Trump because it said the corona virus was false.
The report was a video clip of the President’s interview with the American news channel Fox News in which Trump says children are “virtually immune” to the corona virus.
“This excerpt contains a false claim that a group of people may be immune to COVID-19,” said a Facebook spokesperson. “That violates our policy of sharing harmful disinformation about COVID.”
It is the first time that Facebook has removed a message from Trump due to disinformation about the corona virus. Previously, posts on Facebook from the president were removed due to the spread of hatred and a copyright claim.
The fragment has now also been removed from the president’s Twitter account because it also violates the policy on sharing disinformation about the corona virus.
