Because it was established that large gatherings, such as weddings, are taking place in the Coloma Park and especially during the weekend, Mayor Luc Deconinck issued a new decision today, 12 August.
In addition, gatherings of more than 10 people (including children) are prohibited in the Coloma Park during the day from Friday morning to Monday morning. No gatherings of more than 5 people (including children) are allowed in the park at night.
Specifically, the following arrangement applies to the Colomapark from Friday morning to Monday morning:
- prohibition of gathering more than 10 people between 6 am and 10 pm;
- No gathering of more than 5 people between 10 pm and 6 am.
An exception are organized group lessons that take place within the framework of the federally determined exceptions and subject to compliance with the protocols applicable to the sector.
Compliance with the measures will be strictly monitored by the police, community guards and stewards.
Mouth mask obligation in certain places also remains in force:
Since Thursday, July 29, it has already been mandatory by mayor’s decree to wear a mouth mask in the car parks of the supermarkets and shops, when standing in a queue, in the dog walking areas, playgrounds and squares, in the recycling park and in the Colomapark and domain Groenenberg (with the exception of campers in the tents of the Groenenberg domain and the non-public areas of the parks)
This mouth mask obligation remains in force. However, that obligation does not apply:
- when food or drink is consumed on site, provided the safety distance of 1.5 meters from other persons is guaranteed;
- if you are in a vehicle with the windows closed;
- during intensive sports, provided the safety distance of 1.5 meters from other people is guaranteed.
When wearing a face mask or any alternative in fabric is not possible due to medical reasons, a face shield may be used.
The renewed decision will apply from 12 August and will be posted in the relevant places. It can also be consulted in full on the municipal website.
