Electronic Arts Inc. released the latest game in the UFC franchise today, EA SPORTS UFC 4, allowing players to shape their own UFC legacy or challenge the entire world in new Blitz Battles or Online World Championships to become the uncontested champion of the Octagon. Players can get into the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today.

“In front of EA SPORTS UFC 4 we wanted to focus on creating authentic MMA gameplay for our fans. From the updates and the clinch and takedown mechanics to the new dynamic attack input and grapple assist controls, we’re providing a deeper and more accessible gaming experience for fans of all skill levels, ”said EA SPORTS UFC 4 Creative Director Brian Hayes. “We’ve also built a brand new progression system focused on the Created Fighter, where players are rewarded for each fight in the new Connected Fighter Profile, allowing them to showcase their fighter’s personality and performance.”

Players can choose from various modes and playing styles. Climb up the leaderboard in an enhanced Career Mode experience featuring an all-new fighter evolution system where every choice is critical to shaping your fighter’s skills. Play to become World Champion in the all-new Blitz Battles or compete against the very best in the world in Online World Championships to become the undisputed champion. In addition, move the fight to four all-new environments that pay homage to fictional and historical fighting styles, including The Kumite and The Backyard.

As players pounce opponents in the Octagon against the canvas, they see, hear and feel the impact of every decisive hit with high impact moments and insane repetitions. EA SPORTS Real Player Motion Tech reimagines the art of the clinch and delivers more dynamic takedowns, while new submissions and devastating ground and pound make final battles more exciting than ever. Grapple assist provides more accessible ground controls, and refined attack controls provide better access to combinations and positioning.

This year’s commentary team will include former UFC Light Heavyweight / Heavyweight Champion Daniel “DC” Cormier and UFC Commentator Jon Anik, who will provide a fresh and entertaining gaming experience.

“It was incredible to see my career go from the Octagon to the commentary booth and back again,” said Cormier. “I laugh when I hear myself commenting on fights while playing UFC 4, especially when I get into the Octagon to fight like myself.”

EA SPORTS UFC 4 features a brand new fighter evolution in Career mode, where created characters can grow based on the disciplines they use during training or combat. Players can earn over 1,600 new loadouts and over 120 emotes that allow them to make their fighter’s personality shine like never before as they climb the leaderboards to become a UFC superstar.
