Zulte Waregem goalkeeper Sammy Bossut has suffered a severe concussion and a skull fracture after a major collision in the exhibition game against AA Gent. Bossut was taken to hospital.
Zulte Waregem’s practice match against AA Gent has had a bitter aftertaste. Essevee won 2-1 against the Buffalos, but saw Sammy Bossut drop out with a serious injury.
In a collision, the experienced goalkeeper sustained a concussion and a skull fracture. “He was transferred to the UZ in Ghent for further investigations,” says Zulte Waregem.
Bossut, 34, has been defending Zulte Waregem’s colors since 2006. The goalkeeper was already between the posts at the fusion club more than 400 times.
