Dillier misses Strade Bianche by corona: ‘health system a joke’ | Cycling

Silvan Dillier of AG2R La Mondiale has COVID19 among the members, but is free of complaints. The 29-year-old rider has now been quarantined for ten days. His team will therefore start in Italy with six instead of riders.

“I’m really sorry about this. I am the healthiest person in the world, ”he writes in the Swiss newspaper Look. Dillier had been looking forward to Strade Bianche, the Italian course on partly unpaved roads, with which the WorldTour resumes after a months long hiatus due to the corona virus. Last year Dillier crossed the line in Siena in fourteenth position.

Dillier even doubts the reliability of the test, since he shows no symptoms. He is therefore convinced that he cannot infect anyone. “I have had several tests in the last few days, and they have all been negative. My blood tests were also as they should be, ”says the 29-year-old rider. He therefore wants the lab to re-examine its positive test.

It is clear that Dillier is not a fan of the corona measures. When asked about the quarantine period, he says the whole health system is a joke. “You shouldn’t lock up healthy people!”

AG2R has not yet responded.
