Coronavirus strikes two Dutch clubs and FC Keule …


A player from the selection of Feyenoord has tested positive for the corona virus. For privacy reasons, the Rotterdammers do not report who it concerns. The player goes into quarantine, is temporarily not part of the match selection and does not participate in group training.

Feyenoord will play a friendly game against Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday. The entire selection was therefore tested on Friday. The other players turned out not to be infected with the virus.

“The club follows the guidelines of the RIVM and the protocol of the KNVB. According to that protocol, testing will be further intensified in the coming weeks towards the start of the competition, ”Feyenoord reports.

Earlier on Saturday, Willem II announced that one of their players has the corona virus. Saturday’s exhibition game against IJsselmeervogels will therefore be canceled on Saturday.

Two players from FC Cologne test positive

Two players from Bundesliga club FC Cologne, the team of our fellow countryman Sebastiaan Bornauw, have tested positive for COVID-19. The Bundesliga club confirmed this on Saturday. Both players were immediately sent home and remain in quarantine.

The first group training is scheduled for Saturday for the Goats, three days after the team resumed preparation for the new Bundesliga season. That training will continue as usual.

The training of the youth teams under sixteen and under nineteen years was canceled as a precaution. After all, players from both teams had been in contact with infected persons.

FC Cologne finished the Bundesliga in fourteenth place last season.
