Coronateststraat at Schiphol opens Thursday | NOW

The corona test street at Schiphol Airport will open on Thursday, an airport spokesperson told on Monday.

The cabinet announced the arrival of a test street at Schiphol last week. This is intended for travelers from countries or regions color-coded orange (only necessary trips) or red (no travel).

The test street at arrival hall 3 is being set up by Schiphol and GGD Kennemerland. The GGD takes care of testing and administration. “The GGD employees will also receive the travelers at the gate and refer them to the test street,” says the Schiphol spokesperson. The airport provides clear signage, “so that travelers know where to find the test street”.

Testing is not mandatory. The test street is an addition to existing measures at Schiphol. For example, keeping a distance of 1.5 meters from each other is also the norm at the airport and travelers must wear a mouth mask when checking in, at security and passport control and when boarding.

There is also a duty of masking on the plane, but that is the responsibility of the airlines. Passengers must have a completed health statement with them at Schiphol. The terminal and Schiphol Plaza are only accessible to travelers and employees. People who come to bring or pick up travelers are only allowed to come along if there is no other option.
