The born Hagenaar ended up in ADO’s youth academy shortly after the turn of the century. Since then, he has played elsewhere for three seasons, two years with FC Dordrecht and one season with the German FSV Frankfurt. The last five years he has been continuously active for the Hague club.
“Tom, thanks for everything”, ADO says on social media. Martin Jol, head of the Technical Heart of ADO The Hague, says. “Tom has meant a lot to our club in the last decade and everyone in the Hague family will have to get used to not seeing him play football in our yellow-green colors anymore. We thank him for his unbridled efforts and wish him a lot of fun at Sparta Rotterdam in the coming years. ”
“We were looking for reinforcement for the rearguard,” says technical director Henk van Stee of Sparta. “With Tom we have found a player who has played almost 200 games in the premier league. The transfer fits within our financial capabilities and with his experience, intransigence and fighting spirit, we think Tom will be an asset to us. ”
