CBvS closes doors due to COVID-19 cases – Suriname Herald


Today two employees of the Central Bank of Suriname (CBvS) have tested positive for COVID-19. In accordance with the protocol, the CBvS immediately proceeded to disinfect its locations and close the bank to employees and customers today.

The number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 since the coronavirus outbreak in the country stands at 2,050. According to last night’s statistics, 69 more cases have been added. The number of active cases stands at 696.

According to the COVID-19 website, most of the infected are in Paramaribo (22). Thirteen people are currently being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit, 88 are in hospital, 595 in isolation and 654 in quarantine. In the past 24 hours, 49 people have been declared cured of the virus. The total number of people healed is 1,327.
