Yesterday, all employees at the rehabilitation department of AZ Groeninge, campus Reepkaai, in the city center, were tested again as a preventive measure. All tests were negative for the second week in a row. The great concern arose when a few weeks ago it became known that at least twenty people, patients and staff, were infected in a department.

“The rapid response, the preventive tests and the contact screening enabled us to prevent a further outbreak of the Covid-19 virus,” it sounds relieved.

“The rapid response, the preventive tests and the contact screening enabled us to prevent a further outbreak of the Covid-19 virus”, the relief sounds. Reepkaai, AZ Groeninge was on the safe side and immediately tested all patients and employees of that campus. The test revealed that the outbreak was limited to a department. In the end, about 20 people tested positive. Today, after completely negative test results last week, all employees of the rehabilitation unit were retested to rule out further contamination. All test results are negative again. Campus reepkaai is therefore again corona-free. “To avoid any risk of the virus spreading within the campus, the different departments were kept strictly separate from each other. Visitors and employees were unable to move from one department to another. Due to the negative test results We can suspend these quarantine measures from last week and today, which is why new admissions to rehabilitation unit 3 and the partner in care can come back from 6 August. Our employees contact the partner in care to make specific arrangements. We are convinced that the rapid reaction and the double tests prevented the virus from spreading, making Reepkaai quickly virus-free again ”
