At the end of this year we can get started with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The game was expected to finally be revealed this week with the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5.
But that was not the case and we do not know when Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be revealed as a game. We do know that the game will be linked to the current success of Warzone, so there is probably no separate Battle Royale mode in the game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War x Warzone
The previous game from the Black Ops series, Part Four, released a separate Battle Royale mode called Blackout. It was the first introduction to the Call of Duty series with this principle. Although the mode was entertaining, it turns out that Warzone really works a lot better. And then as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War you better connect to that success than you do something else. And that is also Activision’s plan.
According to Activision president Rob Kostich, gamers can expect to see a clear connection between Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Something that is already happening with Modern Warfare and according to Kostich is important for the gamers. This way you can progress on the Season Pass in both games, so you always have the feeling of progression. It would make sense that such a similar idea would come up with the new Call of Duty, since gamers often want to play both.
What are we going to get?
The big question is of course what Black Ops Cold War will bring us. To be honest, we don’t even know if the game is going to be called that. It is mainly our expectation. Because there is already a Battle Royale game, you can assume that the game has a traditional triptych. This then consists of a story, a standard multiplayer mode and finally a zombie mode.
