The Raiders had a new sports temple worth $ 2 billion built in the Nevada gambling capital. It should be the new home of the team, which has played in Oakland, California so far.
“There is nothing more important to us than the health and safety of the players, trainers, staff and supporters,” said the Raiders in a message addressed to ticket holders for the coming season. “After consultation with the appropriate health authorities and the Nevada state government, we have made the difficult decision to proceed with the opening of Allegiant Stadium without supporters.”
Initially, the team hoped to receive a limited number of fans in the new stadium, which has 65,000 seats and features a retractable natural grass pitch and translucent roof. The complex is planned in the heart of Las Vegas within walking distance of the famous Strip.
Other teams in the NFL hope to play for a limited audience.
The Raiders open their league on September 21 at home against the New Orleans Saints.
