Walkers found the body of a 15-year-old boy from The Hague who had been missing since Friday evening. The teenager disappeared into the sea on Friday evening off the coast of Monster, a place south of The Hague.
After a search failed on Friday evening, the coastguard, rescue brigade, fire brigade and police resume the search on Saturday. On Sunday morning, walkers found his body on the beach. The boy’s family has been informed.
A group of three swimmers got into trouble on Friday around 7:50 PM. This happened at the Sand Motor, an artificial peninsula that was created in 2011 to protect the coast south of The Hague.
Beachgoers managed to save two out of three people, but saw a third person go down.
The three swimmers ran into problems after swimming a bit in the sea and were carried away by the strong southerly current. Then they failed to swim back.
