At first it seemed that Blizzcon was canceled at all this year, but luckily it will still be kept virtual in ‘early 2021’.
Blizzcon will return as a virtual event early next year. The company announced this during a profit meeting.
Normally Blizzcon takes place in November, but in May Blizzard announced that the event will be postponed for the time being. Now it returns earlier than planned in ‘early 2021’.
In May, Blizzard indicated that online events are “new territory” for the company, and that it was looking into various options for coming up with an online replacement. At the moment, however, it has not yet shared details about the interpretation of Blizzcon 2021.
Last year, Blizzard unveiled Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 during Blizzcon, among others. No release date has yet been announced for both games.
