A day before the ‘promotion’ final between Beerschot and Oud-Heverlee Leuven, someone from the club at Beerschot tested positive for the corona virus.

Fortunately for Beerschot, tomorrow’s game is actually unnecessary and there is no promotion at stake after yesterday’s General Assembly. Regardless of Sunday’s results, Beerschot and OHL will both play in 1A next season.

Who it concerns is not yet known. It can be a player, trainer or employee of the club.

The club said the person in question had no symptoms and has now been quarantined for 7 days. Out of respect for his privacy, Beerschot does not want to disclose the name of the infected member.

Sunday’s game against OHL will continue, despite the fact that nothing is at stake for either club.
