* Arsenal Won the trophy For the 14th time in its history, more than any other group. Manchester United second with 12 wins. The Gunners are also the top scorers in the final with 21. Arsenal have won all seven of their finals, the last loss being in 2000/01 against Michael Owen’s Liverpool.

* This is the third time Arsenal have beaten Chelsea in the final. This was also the case in the 2001-02 season – a 0: 2 victory thanks to goals by Ray Farrell and Freddie Lionberg, and in the 2016-17 season thanks to goals by Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey.

* Arsenal are the first team to win the trophy after falling behind in the final since Chelsea in 2009, when the Blues absorbed from Luis Saha after just a minute but responded with goals from Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.

* Since his Arsenal debut in February 2018, Obmiang has scored more goals than anyone else – 70 goals, two more than Muhammad Salah.

* Obmiang is the oldest player to score for Arsenal in the Cup final since 1932 – aged 31 and 44 days. Whoever did this in the past was Bob John at 33 years and 80 days old. Also, Obmiang is the fifth player to score at least a pair at Wembley more than once.

* Mikel Arteta is the first in Arsenal history to win the English Cup with the team both as a coach and as a player. Beyond that he is the first coach to win the title in his team debut season since George Graham in the 1986/87 season.

* Willie Cavajero is the oldest player to start in the squad for the Cup final in Chelsea uniform – at 38 and 308 days.

* Christian Polisic is the first American player to score in the English Cup final. It was also Chelsea’s fastest goal in the final since Roberto Di Matteo did so in the first minute against Middlesbrough in 1997.

* Matthias Kovacic is the sixth player to be eliminated in the FA Cup final. His predecessor also played in the Blues’ ranks – Victor Mozes against the same Arsenal in 2017.
