According to specialized US media, Apple would appeal the verdict. PanOptis, a company specializing in patent usage licenses, went to court against Apple in February 2019. It accused the iPhone manufacturer of refusing to pay commissions for certain 4G technology in its devices.
“The complainants have repeatedly tried to negotiate with Apple to find an agreement on the licensing fees for the patents that Apple infringes,” it said in the initial complaint. “Negotiations have stopped because Apple refuses to pay the license fees.”
