‘Anderlecht are looking for an extra defender and are thinking of the American international’

RSC Anderlecht has not yet moved too much on the transfer market. That may change soon. It has been shopping in the US MLS in recent months and seems to be doing that again.

According to MLS Transfers Anderlecht has set his sights on Marc McKenzie. The 21-year-old American central defender is currently playing for Philadelpha Union, where he is one of the strongholds. He also made his debut for the US national team in February and has played in the spotlight of Anderlecht.

However, McKenzie can enjoy the interest of even more clubs. Union Berlin, Freiburg and Celtic are also linked to McKenzie, who has a contract with Philadelphia Union until the end of 2022.

At Anderlecht, McKenzie has to compete with Marco Kana, Derrick Luckassen, Elias Cobbaut and Vincent Kompany, among others. However, the latter is struggling with injuries. Bubacarr Sanneh, Ognjen Vranjes and Josué Sa, who are also on the payroll, may leave again.
