Ajax completed the first training on Saturday in the run-up to the upcoming Eredivisie season. The Amsterdammers lacked goalkeeper André Onana, Dusan Tadic and asset Mohammed Kudus on the training field.
Striker Kudus, who has been taken over from the Danish FC Nordsjaelland for 9 million euros, will join the selection just like Onana and Tadic on Tuesday.
Acquisitions Maarten Stekelenburg and Antony did participate in the first training session at De Toekomst sports park. 37-year-old Stekelenburg is starting his second period at Ajax and Antony was taken over from São Paulo this summer.
Ajax will play its first exhibition match against RKC Waalwijk in exactly one week. The team of trainer Erik ten Hag then also waits for a friendly duel with FC Utrecht and goes to training camp in Austria at the end of this month, where they practice against Red Bull Salzburg.
The new Eredivisie season starts on Saturday September 12. For Ajax, the competition starts a day later with an away match against Sparta Rotterdam.
