Ajax added three matches to the practice program on Wednesday. The team of trainer Erik ten Hag will play against the German clubs Holstein Kiel, Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Berlin in the coming weeks.
All matches will be played in Amsterdam: on August 25 in empty stands against Holstein Kiel, on August 29 possibly with an audience against Frankfurt and a day later behind closed doors against Union Berlin.
A friendly game with Hertha BSC was already planned on 25 August – so Ajax will play two matches in one day – and spectators may be welcome at that match, just like against Frankfurt.
Ajax started the preparation for the new season on Saturday with a 6-1 win over RKC Waalwijk. On Thursday FC Utrecht will be the next opponent, after which a training camp will be organized in Austria. There they practice against Wolfsberger AC and Red Bull Salzburg.
The team from Amsterdam will start the Eredivisie season on Sunday, September 13 with an away game against Sparta Rotterdam. A week later, RKC Waalwijk (again) comes to the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
