AMSTERDAM (AFN) – Insurer Aegon is finally working on strengthening its balance sheet. Experts at KBC Securities draw this conclusion after the insurer’s half-year figures. According to ING, the message from new CEO Lard Friese is clear.

Friese announced, among other things, that it would cut the dividend. Furthermore, the financial goals went overboard. The company’s strategy will be disclosed in December.

According to KBC, Aegon’s results were far from good, but certainly not catastrophic. According to KBC, the fact that work is now being done to clean up certain matters is a positive first step. According to experts, Aegon will still have to deal with the necessary headwind, but significant steps have already been taken.

ING

ING believes that shareholders will feel the pain of the changes in the short term, now that Aegon is mainly focusing on the long term. This means, among other things, that Aegon will focus on reducing debt.

KBC maintained its hold advice on Aegon, with a target price of 3 euros. ING, which also uses hold advice, is sticking to its target price of 3.2 euros. The share of the insurer was 12.9 percent lower at 2.63 euros on Thursday after just one hour of trading and was by far the biggest loser in the AEX.

  1. Where did Aegon’s heyday of the LAST CENTURY go when the profiteering policies were sold in bundles.
It has been a bankrupt place since the beginning of this century. But lucky that someone still has hope, and that is KBC !!!!!!
