Beyond Good and Evil is the next game franchise to get a film adaptation. The film should be on Netflix.
That can be read on The Hollywood Reporter. Rob Letterman, the director of the film adaptation of Detective Pikachu, will direct. The film must be a combination of live action and animations.
Netflix is only at the beginning of the production of the film. Writers for the script are still being searched. Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin of Ubisoft Film & Television are producing the film. There is no more information yet.
The first Beyond Good and Evil was developed by Rayman creator Michel Ancel and released in 2003. The game quickly grew into a cult game thanks to its unique setting and Zelda-esque gameplay. The sequel has been in development for years and should offer a large open world in which people can visit different planets. It is not known when Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be released.
Ubisoft has a taste for film and television. For example, it turned out yesterday that the company is working on an animated series based on Splinter Cell together with Netflix.
