A 45-year-old man drowned at Gil Beach in Ashdod when he went in to save his children who were swept away

Lehi Shane, a paramedic from the Rescue Union who was on the beach and encountered the incident, said: “I was with my family on the beach and heard cries for help – I was told that Dad went into the sea to save his children who started drowning. The children were rescued unharmed. The first one I gave him with the help of other paramedics, he was taken to the hospital when his condition at this stage was defined as moderate. “

Matan Cohen, an MDA paramedic, said: “When we arrived at the scene, the man was lying on the beach with difficulty breathing. We were told that he went into the water and helped rescue children who were caught in the current and saved them. We gave him medical treatment that included oxygen and we were taken to the hospital in fair condition.
