A 24-year-old man drowned on Achziv beach in the Upper Galilee


A 24-year-old resident of Karmiel drowned today (Saturday) on Achziv Beach in the Upper Galilee, north of the national park. MDA teams who arrived at the scene found him in a critical condition, performed resuscitation operations on him and were eventually forced to determine his death.

Emergency medicine paramedic Matan Kaufman, who was called to the scene where he drowned, said: “When I arrived at the undeclared beach, I saw a man lying near the water line unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing with civilians performing basic resuscitation operations. We immediately began advanced medical treatment. “Massages and medication. But after a long time of trying to save his life, we had to determine his death.”

Before being pulled out of the water, the young man was reported missing and police launched searches to locate him. After his death was determined, police said they were investigating the circumstances of the incident.
