In a violent incident that developed in a swimming pool in one of the localities in the Merhavim Regional Council, two others were injured, a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old boy, lightly. A 16-year-old girl was moderately injured today (Saturday) in a brawl in a swimming pool in the Merhavim Regional Council. In addition, another 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old boy were lightly injured in the fight. The three were treated by MDA teams at the scene and evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva. Two suspects, residents of Ofakim, were arrested a few hours later for questioning.

Nissim Tzafriri, the franchisee who operates the pool in Merhavim, said after the incident that “unfortunately, we got into a violent situation that got out of control. In all thirty years of working here there was no such event, and today, when due to Corona’s limitations few people from outside the region, this difficult event occurred.” He explained that “we tried to stop the violence, and we did not succeed. I wish the wounded a speedy recovery.”

In another brawl that took place in the afternoon in Ashkelon, a 46-year-old man was stabbed and moderately-severely injured on Giora Yoseftal Street in the city. MDA staff provided him with medical treatment on the spot and evacuated him to Barzilai Hospital.
