Will the formation progress? Paul Magnette (PS) and Bart De Wever (N-VA) will soon go to the king

Liberal presidents Georges-Louis Bouchez and Egbert Lachaert are also somewhat clumsy. They feel that they have been kept on the line by N-VA chairman Bart De Wever and SP.A chairman Conner Rousseau during the attempted formation of the so-called “three kings” (Bouchez, Lachaert and Coens). The fact that it has been suggested in the press in recent days that the intention is to drive the “tricky” Bouchez and his MR off, is not appreciated.

It’s no secret that the Liberals are cool lovers of a new round of state reform to say the least. Last Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander De Croo (Open VLD) announced once again that he was not a fan of a new focus on this. “Protecting people, in terms of health and the economic consequences of the corona crisis, will be our only priority,” said De Croo.

Liberals would be willing to talk about Community reforms without a constitutional change, but only if efficiency gains can be achieved.
