In total there are five new tools to come released in the next days / weeks. Indeed, to be honest, some of the new functions are already available: just update the application to the latest version available. Among these there is also the dark mode for WhatsApp Web and the ability in video calls to superimpose the person who is talking. The two most important changes, however. they will only arrive in the coming weeks and we are talking about animated stickers and the QR code to quickly add new contacts. Here’s how they work.
WhatsApp, how animated stickers work
Already present on the beta version, now the animated stickers will also arrive on the official version. The release is expected in the coming weeks. With animated stickers, chats will become much more fun and each user can create animated stickers and upload them for free on the WhatsApp Store.
What is the QR code on WhatsApp for?
The QR code it’s a slightly more complex function than animated stickers. It is a tool designed to easily share with people who have just met your contact: just scan the QR code via the app’s camera and it will appear on your smartphone. Each user will have a personal QR code and can be activated through the settings of your personal account.
The QR code is also being tested for groups. The goal is the same: to facilitate the use of the app. To invite a person into a group, you will not have to send him a link, but just scan the QR code.
The new functions already available on WhatsApp
The developers have also announced three other features, but in this case they are already available. On WhatsApp Web dark mode has arrived and can be activated directly from the settings of your personal account. For video calls, a rather useful fix was made, especially when there are 7-8 participants: the person who starts talking is superimposed on the screen. Finally, for those who have a smartphone with the KaiOS operating system, they now finally have access to the Status section.
