Watford and Bournemouth were relegated on the last day of the Premier League on Sunday. The teams accompany Norwich City, for which the curtain already fell. Aston Villa was released with a shock and remains at the highest level.
Aston Villa and Watford started the last game with 34 points, while Bournemouth had no control with 31 points. Bournemouth’s 1-3 victory at Everton turned out to be of little value afterwards.
For Watford, the curtain fell due to a 3-2 loss at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal. Aston Villa took advantage and was able to breathe a sigh of relief after a hard-fought 1-1 draw from West Ham United.
Norwich City has known for two weeks that next season will be acting in the Championship. The team of goalkeeper Tim Krul, who lost no chance against Manchester City (5-0) on Sunday, took only 21 points this season.
The vacancies in the Premier League are occupied by Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion. For the third and final promotion spot, Brentford, Fulham, Cardiff City and Swansea City compete in playoffs.

Watford could only enjoy stunting against Liverpool
Watford neatly finished eleventh in the Premier League last season and made it to the FA Cup final, but this year has been restless from the start. With Javi Gracia, Quique Sánchez Flores and Nigel Pearson, three trainers had to leave the field early with the team where Daryl Janmaat hardly came into action due to an injury.
The spectacular 3-0 win at the end of February at the then unbeaten Liverpool turned out to be the highlight of a further failed season. Arsenal gave ‘The Hornets’ the final push on Sunday by taking a 3-0 lead within 35 minutes.
Troy Deeney and Danny Welbeck still had an exciting final phase with goals in the 43rd and 66th minutes, but could not prevent a five-year period for Watford at the highest level.

Aké and Groeneveld see Bournemouth relegated
Bournemouth booked a nice 1-3 away on Everton on the last day of play, but due to the results on the other fields, that was just not enough. At Bournemouth, Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld and transferring Nathan Aké stayed on the bench for the entire match.
Bournemouth moved up from League Two to the Premier League between 2010 and 2015. There, the team of trainer Eddie Howe lasted just like Watford for five years. Ninth place in the 2016/2017 season was the best result for ‘The Cherries’.
Aston Villa was released with a 1-1 draw at West Ham United. 0-1 in the 84th minute, Jack Grealish brought joy to the team of trainer Dean Smith, but after Andriy Yarmalenko’s 1-1 it remained exciting until the last second. Anwar El Ghazi, who scored 4 goals in 34 games this season, came in just before time.
