Vlap helps Heerenveen with first reinforcement: ‘He spoke to the trainer’

Michel Vlap played a role in the first summer transfer from sc Heerenveen. The born Frisian made the switch to Anderlecht in 2019 and played there with Sieben Dewaele, who reported at the Abe Lenstra Stadium on Monday.

Heerenveen hires the 21-year-old midfielder from Kortrijk for one season of Purple-White. “Did I still speak Vlap? Yes, he came to me and he had also spoken to me about the trainer (Johnny Jansen, ed.)”, Dewaele tells Heerenveen TV. “He also told a lot of positive things about Heerenveen, the way they play and an overview of the club. It helped me to make this decision.”
At the beginning of the season, Dewaele suddenly was a base player at Anderlecht, but disappeared from the picture after the winter break. In Friesland he hopes to pick up the thread again. “Because it is important for me to play as many matches as possible, gain a lot of experience and make a lot of progress. And I think Heerenveen is an ideal club to do this.”
