The world of video games has been in mourning for 48 hours, after learning about the suicide, at the age of 31, of Byron “Reckful” Bernstein, one of the most famous American video game ‘streamers’ on the Twitch platform. The news spread very quickly on the specialized sites but it started from the social media, for the rather strange posts that Bernstein himself had published on July 2, in which he defined himself as crazy (“I feel bad for anyone who has to do with my madness “) and made a marriage proposal to ex-girlfriend Beca Cho, publishing several photos that portrayed them together.

I can’t stop to cry. ” And then he added: “Someone I loved killed himself. I wish I could have done something to stop it.”

Byron had become very popular on Twitch under the nickname Reckful and had gained quite a bit of popularity thanks to his ‘World of Warcraft’ streams that had earned him over 936,000 followers. A number high enough to allow him to turn his online business into a job. His passion for the world of video games was not limited to live streaming. For some time Bernstein also worked as a developer and was developing his first real video game, ‘Everland’, which was due to be released in late 2020.
